From The Principal’s Desk…

While I, like many others, are very READY for spring break… this time of year is a reminder for me that “new things are on the way.”  Spring break sends us away from school/campus for a week, but it also gives us a chance to realize that full-on planning for the upcoming school year is happening.  We are almost daily having visits, inquiries and conversations with families about next year.  Tomorrow is the early enrollment deadline, so we generally see families make their commitment for the upcoming school year.  I am hopeful by what I am seeing with increased enrollment for next year.  Please call, text or email me with any questions…. next school year is right around the corner!

From The Principal’s Desk…

I was blessed by a powerful message at our home church last Sunday, and I couldn’t help but take a few words from this message to share with our students on Monday… Luke 9:51 - “...Jesus set His face toward Jerusalem…”  Using this example, I challenge all of us to decide and be determined that we will follow JESUS with each step of our life.  It won’t be an easy road.  But it will be the correct one!  As we approach the Easter celebration, let us all set our faces toward the cross, the grave, and toward our living, resurrected SAVIOR!

For March, we began a new theme in our chapels…”Not Ashamed.”  I want to challenge students (and families, as well) to consider how each of us can proclaim Jesus to the world.  Maybe that means bringing your faith up in a conversation… or inviting someone to study the Bible together… or giving glory to God on a FaceBook post.  No matter what, let’s be completely unashamed that we follow a Living Savior!

From The Principal’s Desk…

We are wrapping up the month of February… which brought us some bitter cold days, some snow, and a reminder here at the end that warmer weather is approaching!  Our theme of “God is Love” rang true throughout the month!  We ended with a chapel this week reminding us that the ultimate show of TRUE LOVE came when Jesus sacrificed for us on the cross.  Without this great love we would be lost.

Digital Natives presentation - TONIGHT - February 11th, 6:30pm via Zoom

With the move to online learning over the past year, staff at CLA have seen a significant increase in students' online activity, especially in relation to search queries, videos watched, and material that is consumed online. As a school that desires to partner with parents and families, staff members are also having increased conversations with parents about how to handle situations involving questionable content, especially as parents are raising digital natives who spend a large amount of time online participating in various social media platforms. If you are interested in learning more about how your children interact with the internet or if you are looking for ways to engage in potentially difficult conversations with your child about his/her online activities, this is the study for you!

Have a wonderful extended weekend!  We often think of “Love” as associated with Feb 14 (Valentine’s Day).... but I encourage you to remember GOD is LOVE!  It is only through God’s love that we can truly understand what love is.  I would encourage you to read in I John…. in particular I John 4:7-8.  Have a “lovely” weekend!

February is a month (with Valentine’s Day right in the middle) where our thoughts turn to “love.”  For this month, let’s consider God’s love!  We are now using I Corinthians 13 the “love is…” chapter to remember how God represents all of the aspects of love.  Take some time this month to read through this with your children, and remember GOD is LOVE!

We completed our January theme “Trust and Obey” in chapels.  It was a joy to share with the students what the Word says about walking in the light of God’s word, side-by-side… May we all continue to be examples to a watching world what it truly means to trust God and obey His direction for our lives!

Can you believe it? Time to begin thinking about the 2021-2022 school year!

Tuition receipts and Donor receipts will be sent home in backpacks or via postal mail this week for the 2020 tax year.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Westley or Mr. Horning. Daycare Tuition receipts are only printed by request.  K-12 and donor receipts are automatically sent to all.

I have a new favorite song… it turns out it’s a favorite of other teachers here at CLA as well, as my son tells me it’s been a part of devotional worship time in middle school… “Rise Up (Lazarus)” by Cain. I’d encourage you to take a listen sometime - a careful listen.  God offers saving grace and  that offer of grace calls out to us.  He calls us to step out of our darkness that we have become comfortable in… and rise up and follow HIM!  May we together do just that - today, this week - “rise up!”

PIZZA RANCH FUNDRAISER FOR REMOTE/VIRTUAL LEARNING FUNDS.  

This year CLA has been blessed by God's provision for the many unexpected needs encountered during this season of remote/virtual learning.  As remote learning continues, so do the needs of our students!

CLA is hosting a Pizza Ranch Take'n'Bake fundraiser with pizza pickup on Friday, January 29th.  ***Please note: freezer space is not available to hold orders.***   Pizzas are $10, with Pizza Ranch donating $3 of each pizza back to CLA! Choose from pepperoni, sausage, cheese, Bronco (various meats), buffalo chicken, or breakfast pizza. ORDER FORMS WERE SENT HOME LAST WEEK. PLEASE HELP!

Please do not call or text the school or staff about delays or closures, but check these sources first!
