Veteran’s Day Activities - MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11
Christian Life Academy will be celebrating and thanking our Veterans with a brief assembly at 12:30 pm on Monday, November 11. Weather permitting, the school body will then together attend a 1:00 pm color guard presentation at the Hopedale Area Veteran’s Memorial approximately one block away in front of the main entrance to the Hopedale Hospital.
Family and friends (in particular those who are veterans)
are encouraged and welcome to attend!
The Christmas program is swiftly approaching!
This year's program will feature our Pre-K and K-4th grade students performing some musical numbers and our middle school students performing a one act play titled A Way... in a Manger. Ticket forms and more information will go home in next week's Lion Tales! We are in need of some set assistance for this year's program.
Set:
We need someone with some handyman skills to repair a manger and help create a facade of a front of a house or two.
If you can help, please contact Mrs. Stribling at [email protected].
PLEASE NOTE: ORDER FORMS FOR THE ANNUAL PTF CINNAMON ROLLS AND DINNER ROLLS FUNDRAISER WILL BE COMING HOME SOON. KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THEM! You can order cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls online here: https://forms.gle/f4CVay2LpYiFJkDv7
SEVERE WEATHER!
For information about school closings or delays, please check out the school facebook page, where we will post closings, delays or other information. We will also send out a school-wide email as well as post on local TV stations. We ask that you do not call or text staff members, but to check all of the sources above. We attempt to make a decision by 6:30 am but sometimes it is a bit later, so check sources before leaving for school. Stay warm and safe!
Outdoor Recess with Snow on the ground
We try to go outside for recess if at all possible. The only two conditions that hold us back from outdoor recess are rain and wind chill. We will go outside most of the winter if these two conditions allow. If there is snow on the ground, ONLY students who have appropriate snow gear (boots, gloves, hats, coats) will be allowed to go in the snow. Those without gear will be required to stay on the hard surfaces out of the snow. PLEASE send warm outdoor gear throughout the entire winter!
LIFE DAYS WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
Each year, the community of Christian Life Academy gathers to celebrate and support the school. This event, held last weekend (November 1-2), is called Life Days. Our 12th annual event, Life Days 2019, was one of our most successful ever. This means that we are closing the gap, as our school budget requires, between tuition paid by families and the cost of education. THANK YOU to all who participated. Below you will find some of the “By the Numbers” information from Life Days 2019.
Life Days 2019 - preliminary report
Total money raised - over $50,000
Silent and Live Auction income - over $25,000 (highest item - raspberry pie - $6,750)
Monetary Direct Donations - over $16,000 (from more than two dozen individuals and businesses)
Meals/Food income - Friday night over $700...Saturday breakfast nearly $900...Pork Chops nearly $3900
Children’s Auctions (tickets and live auction) - over $750
CLA was truly blessed by the celebration
and funds raised at Life Days 2019!
From the Principal's Desk
One of my favorite parts of Life Days is observing (and joining in with) all of the conversations and encouragement going on amongst our CLA family. By some (not very mathematical) calculations, it is likely that over 500 people were involved over the weekend. Sitting at tables, eating together, telling stories, simply sharing life together. I truly believe that this is an example of what Jesus wants us to do as Christ-followers - to live life together. And as we follow in His footsteps, endeavoring to make Him known, I can see His blessing upon our school. Thank you, CLA community, for another great Life Days!
In Christ,
Mr. Horning
