Easter Service - TONIGHT! - Worship together with CLA Families!

We will celebrate Easter TONIGHT with our Easter Worship Service together as a school community.  The program is at Living Hope Community Church and begins at 6:30 pm.  Starting at 6 pm, we will have some middle school and high school Easter-themed artwork on display in the church fellowship hall.  We will then be blessed to have our Preschool through High School students lead us in times of song and scripture.  Mr Horning, with some help from a few high school students, will bring a message, and we will share together in communion.  What a special time together.  There will likely be parking concerns at the church, so we will again have extra parking at the school, with a shuttle running back and forth starting at 6 pm.  Living Hope Community Church is located at 326 NW Jefferson Street in Hopedale.

PTF is having a fundraiser through Braker's Market in Eureka!

Choices include breakfast casseroles, dinner casseroles, cinnamon rolls, cookies and pies.  All items will come freshly prepared and frozen.  They would be great for Mother's Day - let mom have a break from cooking - or to have on hand for the busy month of May!  Order forms will be sent home with students today so you can share with family over spring break or you may also use the Google form to order online.  Orders and payment are due Monday, April 8.  Orders will be available for pick up from the school in the afternoon on Wednesday, May 1.

Here is the link to order:  https://forms.gle/hD87atA3DhZvkf9q8

Solar Eclipse - We’ll take a “safe look” together!

Monday, April 8th there will be a Solar Eclipse in which our area will be in approximately 90% totality.  CLA staff plan to take all students K-12th grade outside for this experience.  PTF has purchased eclipse-safe viewing glasses to make this a safe and fun experience. Staff will reinforce the importance of keeping these glasses on at all times while viewing the eclipse with students.

If you do not wish your student(s) to view the eclipse, please contact your student(s) grade coordinator: Mrs.Bowman (K-4th), Mrs.Young (5th-8th) or Mrs.Stribling (9th-12th).

Reminders - Communication, Attendance, Sign in and Sign out!

We want to make sure that our communication is clear, and that we have good records of student presence in and out of the buildings!  With this in mind, please be sure to do the following:

  • When your child is absent, please contact the school office by 8:30 am and also contact the teacher directly, especially if you are wishing to pick up work for your child. Our teachers will need time (and cannot stop their work/classes) to get absent work together.

  • When you arrive or depart school at any time outside of the regular school arrival/dismissal times, we need to have students signed in and signed out, so we have good records of their presence in the building.  This means parents must come to the office (main building) or front door (HS building) to sign in / sign out students! Please do not simply drop them off when they arrive after 8:30 am.  We need you to sign them in!

  • When making appointments, we request that you do your best to make these appointments early in the day or late in the day so that student attendance in school is maximized. Even better, find a “no school” day for appointments!

Just ten days remain for the CLA FORWARD CHALLENGE!

Look for details about how you and many friends of CLA can partner together this March in support of the school. Pass the word along to others who share our love for the mission of Christian Life Academy.  This is a great time to give and encourage others to join in.  Thank you in advance for getting the word out!

Did you know? State Farm and Caterpillar employees can help CLA…

State Farm employees, as well as Caterpillar employees and retirees, are able to take advantage of matching funds from their companies to benefit Christian Life Academy.  Deadlines come quickly, as this needs to be done by January 31 for Caterpillar.   Caterpillar link is www.caterpillar.com/matching-gifts.  This is an annual option, so you may look into this for 2024 also. State Farm has both a “good neighbor” program (volunteer hours equals a company donation) and a donor matching program throughout the year.  If you want to take advantage of this, Mr. Horning or Mrs. Westley are glad to help!

From the Principal's Desk

You’ll hear a lot more tonight at the Easter Worship service.  I hope to see you there.  But be ready to see some amazing gifts and be ready to say “WOW!” at what God has for us!  And then, have a wonderful spring break… we’ll be ready to jump into the last seven weeks of the school year when we return!

Blessings,

        Mr. Horning
