Enrollment is open and families can still enroll and tell friends!  We will also be continuing to offer individualized visits to new prospective families.  The best advertisement for the school is word of mouth, so pass this information on to others that may be interested in a Christian Life Academy education!  

CLA 8th grade and High School Graduation

Graduation will be held on Thursday, May 20th in two separate ceremonies.  

• 8th grade graduation will begin at 5:30pm at Living Hope Community Church.  Due to COVID limitations, each 8th grade graduate will be given 7 tickets for family/friends.  If you have extra tickets that you don’t need (or if you need more than 7 tickets!), please contact Mrs. Westley in the office. 

• CLA’s first high school graduation will take place at 7:00pm at Living Hope Community Church.  If you wish to attend the high school graduation, please RSVP with the number of seats to Mrs. Stribling at [email protected].  

CLA Teacher/Staff Positions for next year - pass the word along!

As our school grows, we will be seeking a high school teacher for next year.  There are also several additional part-time staff positions open for next year, as as roles change and we seek teachers and staff that will guide our students into Christ-like learning opportunities.  The following positions will be available:

• High School Mathematics/Science teacher (full time - may combine with other position(s))

• Lunchroom/Kitchen Manager/Cook  (part time - 10-15 hours/week)

• Summer/Before School/After School Daycare Staff (part time - 5-10 hours/week)

• Physical Education Teacher (part time - 6-8 hours/week) 

If you know of a candidate for any of these positions, please pass the word on to the candidate, or talk with Mr. Horning.  We have been blessed with amazing staff over our history, and we know that God has the perfect plan on how our staff will grow and change next year!

Continuing with our theme from Matthew 16 of “Following Jesus,” this week in chapels our focus was choosing - making a specific CHOICE to follow Jesus every day.  The word follow has the meaning of “pursuing a calling.”  Jesus is calling us… to pursue Him!

We also use the results to help plan content for classrooms.  If you have any questions, please feel free to talk with the staff leader for your child’s age group - Mrs. Bowman (K-4), Mrs. Young (5-8), Mrs. Stribling (9-12) or Mr. Horning.

In our “Follow Jesus” theme, this week we began discussing what it means to “pick up our cross.”  The decision to follow Jesus has many implications. One of them is that we know there will be challenges, possible problems, and difficult times.   But choosing to follow Jesus, and pick up the cross he asks us to carry, also has a wonderful reward!  It is exciting to explore this idea together.   Thank you for your partnership with our school community!

In our “Follow Jesus” theme, this week we discussed “denying self.”  Isn’t that a very counter-culture type of thought!?  Our world says “look out for yourself.”  Jesus says “put others first.”  And in reality, that means putting JESUS first.  I pray that as families we can encourage our children in following Jesus, even if it is against our popular culture.  As a CLA family, we can all work together in this mind set!  Thank you for your partnership with our school community!

Thank you for supporting the PTF “Easter Rolls” fundraiser!  

Approximately $1500 was raised to help support student and classroom needs.  Wow! Also thank you to the many volunteers who baked nearly 190 dozen rolls… weren’t they delicious!??!

Our new chapel theme for the remainder of the school year is “Follow Jesus” - what does this REALLY mean?  We will be challenging students to see how their life follows their faith.  I’d encourage you to take a look at this same question as an individual, as a family.  May we all follow and serve better each day!

While I, like many others, are very READY for spring break… this time of year is a reminder for me that “new things are on the way.”  Spring break sends us away from school/campus for a week, but it also gives us a chance to realize that full-on planning for the upcoming school year is happening.  We are almost daily having visits, inquiries and conversations with families about next year.  Tomorrow is the early enrollment deadline, so we generally see families make their commitment for the upcoming school year.  I am hopeful by what I am seeing with increased enrollment for next year.  Please call, text or email me with any questions…. next school year is right around the corner!

From The Principal’s Desk…

I was blessed by a powerful message at our home church last Sunday, and I couldn’t help but take a few words from this message to share with our students on Monday… Luke 9:51 - “...Jesus set His face toward Jerusalem…”  Using this example, I challenge all of us to decide and be determined that we will follow JESUS with each step of our life.  It won’t be an easy road.  But it will be the correct one!  As we approach the Easter celebration, let us all set our faces toward the cross, the grave, and toward our living, resurrected SAVIOR!

For March, we began a new theme in our chapels…”Not Ashamed.”  I want to challenge students (and families, as well) to consider how each of us can proclaim Jesus to the world.  Maybe that means bringing your faith up in a conversation… or inviting someone to study the Bible together… or giving glory to God on a FaceBook post.  No matter what, let’s be completely unashamed that we follow a Living Savior!

From The Principal’s Desk…

We are wrapping up the month of February… which brought us some bitter cold days, some snow, and a reminder here at the end that warmer weather is approaching!  Our theme of “God is Love” rang true throughout the month!  We ended with a chapel this week reminding us that the ultimate show of TRUE LOVE came when Jesus sacrificed for us on the cross.  Without this great love we would be lost.

Please be sure to have children come to school with appropriate outdoor weather gear!  Hats, coats, gloves and long pants… >>> IF/WHEN SEVERE WEATHER ARRIVES<<<  We will announce any changes (closure, late start, etc) by sending EMAILS to all families through Gradelink, posting announcements on FACEBOOK both publicly and in the Lions’ Den parent group, and also posting on the local TV WEBSITES. Please do not call or text the school or staff about delays or closures, but check these sources first!
